The client is a large-scale retail enterprise with a widespread physical store network operating across multiple regions. The organization manages a diverse product portfolio that includes fast-moving consumer goods, seasonal merchandise, and promotional inventory, requiring frequent pricing adjustments and markdown decisions.
Each store previously had a degree of autonomy in applying discounts and promotional pricing based on local demand and inventory conditions. While this decentralized approach provided flexibility, it also introduced significant challenges in maintaining pricing consistency, controlling excess inventory, and aligning markdown strategies with overall business objectives.
